One of the industries where the interest and adoption of the bowtie method is growing is the Steel industry. Some of the bigger Steel companies in the world, such as the Dutch Tata Steel, are already using bowtie for their major hazard analyses.

Together with CGE partner Daan from Bergwerff Services we have given a webinar on “Process Safety with BowTie” for steeluniversity’s steelTalks. This industry university, initiated by the World Steel Organization, delivers education and training to current and future employees of steel companies and related businesses. World Steel represents approximately 150 steel producers (including 9 of the world’s 10 largest steel companies), national and regional steel industry associations, and steel research institutes. It’s members represent around 85% of world steel production.

The session introduces you to the bowtie method, adding to it a discussion of various applications throughout our industry in relation to guidance and the capacity to close the barrier feedback loop. The live webinar was very well attended with over net 250 attendees and is now made available as a recording.
